    VP&SL Remote Opportunities

I looked at the "Native Lands" map and I thought it was very eye opening. I didn't realize how many countries there are in the world even though I have been told there are many countries that exist. I think we live in a bubble of sorts where we are only concerned about our lives and the lives of the people around us, but we often neglect and don't think about others in other countries that are not as fortunate as us.

I read the poverty article from The New York Times. The story follows a man who is not able to pay his bills due to having Covid while working at a nursing home. The pandemic had (and continues to) be very tough on people. Many lost their jobs and many more businesses closed due to low consumer counts. I like this article because it highlights just how hard the pandemic was on the economy and the financial lifestyle of people all over the world-not just in the US.

I read the New York Times article about learning remotely over Covid. I really thought this article was eye opening because growing up in a private school, I never realized how privileged I was that I could go back to school full time (in person) the entire year of the 2021-2022 school year. School is not designed for online learning, especially for young kids.

I read the "On The Plate" comic and I thought it was very impactful. Richards life is very different from Paula's in that his life is full of privilege while Paula's is not. I liked that how at the end of the comic, the two come together in the same room and in the same scenario. I think that this comic is trying to say that people are not aware that they have privilege in this world.
